Prices

We keep the prices here up to date and we print the date on the rate sheet. They can still change, and tax and fuel are extra where we say so. Moorage is priced by the length of your boat, so the sheet shows where it starts rather than what yours will be. The price we confirm with you at the store or on the phone is the one that counts.

Nothing here is a booking

The site never knows whether the cabin, a campsite, a boat or a slip is free on your dates. There is no calendar behind it and no availability to read. Only the store knows, which is why every page asks you to call. Sending the form is not a reservation either, and nothing is held for you until one of us has said so out loud.

Renting a boat, a kayak or a board

Rentals are agreed at the store, in person, under the paperwork you sign there. You need to be 18 to rent or have a parent or guardian present to sign, everyone wears a life jacket, our tinner needs a Pleasure Craft Operator card, and we hold a credit card while you are out. If the wind or the water turns we may move or cancel a rental, and we would rather do that than have you out in it. What you read here is a description of those rules, and the agreement you sign at the dock is the one that binds.

The wind and the lake level

The wind comes from our own weather station and the lake level comes from Environment and Climate Change Canada’s public gauge. We show them because they are useful, and every reading on the page carries the time it was read. A reading can be late, a station can go quiet, and this lake can change faster than any gauge reports. They are not a forecast, and a number on this screen is never a statement that it is safe to go out. That judgement is yours, on the water, on the day.

The safety page

Before you go out is a plain summary with every number read from a named public source on a printed date, and those sources are listed at the foot of it. It is not professional safety advice, it is not a substitute for the Transport Canada guide or for training, and we are not a rescue service and do not monitor the lake. Check the numbers against their sources before you rely on them, and carry what the law requires for your boat.

The printed sheets

The rate sheet and the float plan are yours to print and use. Print them again when you need them rather than keeping an old one: the date is on the page for exactly that reason.

Photographs you send us

The form lets you attach up to four photographs. Send only pictures that are yours to send. We use them to answer what you asked and for nothing else. If you are sending a fish for the wall on the home page, say so in the note: we do not put anybody’s photograph on the site without being told we can, and if one is up there and you want it down, tell us and it comes down.

The words and the pictures

The writing, the photographs and the drawings on this site belong to Scotties Marina, apart from the view of the marina from above, which is satellite imagery credited to Google where it appears. Please ask before you reuse any of it.

Links away from here

We link to Google Maps, to Apple Maps, to Facebook, to our own page of Google reviews, and to public sources such as BC Hydro and Transport Canada. We do not run those sites, their terms are their own, and a link is not an endorsement of anything else they carry.

The site itself

We try to keep this site up, correct and readable, and we do not promise it will never be down or never be wrong. If you find something here that is out of date or wrong, please tell us: it is the fastest way to get it fixed, and we would rather hear it from you than not hear it.
